The Association of British Insurers reported that, on average, £1.8 million insurable losses occur every day. A staggering statistic when you consider that ‘escape of water’ generally relates to burst pipes and water leaks. This picture becomes bleaker when you consider that escape of water claims makes up a third of claims and is one of the most common types of domestic property damage claims, which has increased by 40% in the last four years. Often this is exasperated when tenants are away or if you manage a multi-dwelling property.
